AN EVENING WITH PAT COOPER WITH SPECIAL GUESTS: A SHIKSA, A YENTA AND THAT GUITAR MAN
Few comics can say they have worked with the likes of George Burns, Frank Sinatra, Tony Bennett and Bobby Darin, but Pat Cooper can. Born Pasquale Caputo, the legendary comedian didn’t break into show business until the age of 32. But from that moment in 1963, when the young, smart-mouthed Brooklynite was beamed into millions of homes via The Jackie Gleason Show, people across the country knew they were seeing… Show more something special. Brash, irreverent, and undeniably hilarious, his view of what was happening around him has always been honest, unyielding, and colored by his comedic anger. On stage, Pat pulls no punches in relating story after story of his life including the good, the bad, and the funny! He is living proof that one can succeed in show business – just as long as you learn how to duck! www.patcooper.com CLICK HERE TO SEE A VIDEO OF PAT.
Comedian Tammy Pescatelli vaulted into American comedy consciousness as a member of the Final Five on NBC’s “Last Comic Standing” Season 2 which solidified her as one of the sharpest women in the comedy world. Originally from the Cleveland area, she grew up in a large Italian family that provided her with much of her “funny fodder”. On her comedy album, “It Is What It Is”, she used every bit of her life experience to make us laugh about family, religion, and even politics (her sister thinks that Al Queda is a guy from the neighborhood). She won Comedy Central’s “2010 Stand-Up Showdown”, has appeared on CBS’s “The Talk”, Nickelodeon’s “NICK Mom’s Night Out”, NBC’s “Last Comic Standing: The Best of the Best”, Comedy Central’s “The World Stands Up!”, and “The Tonight Show with Jay Leno” amongst numerous others. Additionally, Tammy has done 6 USO tours to entertain the troops and has had her own hybrid reality series on WEtv, “A Standup Mother”, which documented her life as a wife, a mother, and a comedian. www.pescatelli.com
A comedy veteran, who is a past recipient of the American Comedy Award for Best Female Stand-up, Wendy Liebman, has the smarts to go along with the funny. A graduate of Wellesley College in Massachusetts with a degree in Psychology, she performed psychology research at Harvard Medical School. But comedy turned out to be a better medium for her to analyze the human condition. Wendy has been a regular on late night TV with appearances on “The Tonight Show” with both Johnny Carson and Jay Leno, “Late Night with Jimmy Fallon”, “The Late Show with David Letterman”, “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”, and “The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson”. She has done 1/2 hour specials for both HBO and Comedy Central, and her first one hour special, “Wendy Liebman: Taller on TV” debuted on Showtime in 2011. She was also part of the comedy documentary, “The Aristocrats”. www.wendyliebman.com
In 1992, intending only to make a little lunch money, David Ippolito unknowingly began a fascinating journey and an unusual career by performing an impromptu concert on a hill in New York City’s Central Park in front of a few people who gathered. Among those present was New York Times editor, Jack Rosenthal, who the next day published an editorial about the performance. For the last 20 years, he has performed on a hill near a picturesque rowboat lake almost every summer weekend to large crowds of passers-by and regulars, including visitors from around the globe, and has become a beloved New York icon, creating an intimate “It’s Just Us” feeling no matter how big the audience. While singing covers by significant singer-songwriters like James Taylor, Harry Chapin, Paul Simon and others, it is his original music that impresses fans from all over the world who check in on his website’s daily blog: www.thatguitarman.com. He also writes clever, satirical songs about celebrities, politicians, pundits, white-collar criminals, TV personalities and obnoxious people. All come together to make his performances a truly rare and hilarious experience.
Don’t miss this extraordinary show that blends a myriad of comedic genius, styles and timing into an evening of laughter and music!
