History of Compton and Its Connection to the Rancho San Pedro
Join Robert Lee Johnson as he teaches the history of the city of Compton, originally part of the Rancho San Pedro Spanish land grant.
Today, it is known as the city of “hip-hop dreams and gangsta fantasies.” But its history is not as well known. Learn the interesting history behind a city that is full of myth and misunderstandings. Light refreshments will be served after the talk. Mr. Johnson will also be available to sign copies of his book, on sale in the museum’s gift shop.
