Capitol City 'Bat Wars' 7 G/G Showdown & College Showcase

We are happy again to host ' Bat Wars ' at our Capitol City Showdown. It will one of only two softball tournaments in the country that they hold this event. For those of you that are not familiar with it, it is one of the most unique tournament experiences the girls will have during the summer. It is put on by a group out of Florida, and it consists of four inflatable batting cages and four pitching machines set up on one field. They provide over 200 bats from all the major manufacturers, and the… Show more girls can try any of them to see if they like them. And this is done at no cost to the teams or players. And they provide all the outfielders, so the girls can just enjoy themselves hitting. It is quite a sight to see all 4 cages going at once. There will be prizes, giveaways, and lots of action. Again at no cost. Combine this with the fact that all teams get 7 games guaranteed in the tournament, 90 minute long games, and the winner of each of the two pools in each age group advances to a championship game, we think it will be an enjoyable weekend of softball for everyone. And the coach can bat the entire lineup if he chooses, and there will be free substitution in the field. This format allows the coach to experiment with the team and get better tuned up for the remainder of the summer season. This will all take place at Berliner Park in Columbus Ohio, the largest softball complex in the country with 31 fields. After the rain of last year, we have instituted several changes with the park that will help us better handle inclement weather.
