Homeschool Friday: Diseases of the 19th Century

Friday, Jan 4, 2013 10:00a to 11:30a

The diseases we face today are very different from the past. Students will learn about diseases that afflicted people in the 19th century including smallpox, polio, malaria, yellow fever, scarlet fever, cholera and more. Activities and games will help students understand the differences between these diseases and how the world worked to cure them. Today’s minor ailments could be killers in the past. Even the lotions, potions, and medicines used could sometimes do more harm than good.
