Burgers are great! as close to
In-N-Out as I have found East of the Mountians.
If they would go to fresh cut fries and or spicey fresh cut fries, they would have a gold mine!!!
Shakes wouldn't hurt either.
Moved to the Springs from So Cal in Feb 2008. Heard about this place from a friend and had to try it. Didn't remember the name, but we drove up and down Garden of the Gods Road until we found it!
Overall, not bad...the restaurant smells like In and Out and looks pretty similar. The burger patties are very close to In and Out's flavor. Wouldn't say the buns were too good. Tasted a little spongy, but the overall structure of the burger is pretty much the same.
Even though the fries are frozen, still tasty and have just the right amount of salt. Don't particularly care for the "spread" (their homeade thousand island dressing)...too much pepper, I think. Their "wild style" was similar, too, but the onions weren't sauteed, like In and Out's are.
I would definitly go there again to satisfy those In and Out cravings until I go back to Cali, but Drifter's has potential, for sure!!
