“From Palmer to Amtrak ~ Railroads of the Pikes Peak Region"

Friday, May 10, 2013 11:00a to 12:00p
Old Colorado City History Center Colorado Springs, CO

Railroading in the Pike’s Peak Region was once a significant industry. More than 10 railroads once operated here. Nearly all were small, but some were major operations. From passenger to freight, to the city trolley, the Red Mountain Incline and the little known Cheyenne Mountain Zoo Railway, this illustrated program with vintage photos will provide an overview of those early lines that contributed to the development of our region.

Illustrated program by railroad historian Mel McFarland.
