Colorado High School Climbing League State Finals, Feb. 22-23

The high school varsity final on Saturday, February 22nd is an invitation-only event with invitations issued by region. A list of invitees is attached. Junior varsity competitors will be climbing on Friday night from 6 – 9 PM.
This is the fifth annual competition for the Colorado High School Climbing League whose mission is to promote high school climbing around the state. In addition to schools from Colorado… Show more Springs, Monument, Castle Rock and Denver, teams will be traveling from Grand Junction, Ouray, Montrose, Ft. Collins and Carbondale to participate in the event. To be invited to the Varsity State Finals, top teams are selected from their respective regions. The top individuals in each region are also invited to participate. The Junior Varsity competition is open to any competitor who has previously competed at the Junior Varsity level.
Competitors will have three hours to climb as many roped climbs and boulder problems (lower climbs with no ropes) as they can. Their top five scores will be added together to get a final score. Team scores are composed of the top three individual scores. High school competitions will be Friday, 2/22 from 6 – 9 PM for the Junior Varsity teams and Saturday, 2/23 from 9 AM – 12 PM for the Varsity teams. The competition is free to watch and spectators are encouraged to attend.
