World Organ Day Celebration Concert

On Monday, May 6, 2013 the world with resonate with music by composers of Notre Dame de Paris as organists throughout the world present concerts celebrating the 850th anniversary of the great cathedral. At the express invitation of Notre Dame de Paris 2013, Colorado College Organist Frank Shelton, one of a few Americans to have performed three concerts in the Cathedral, will present a free concert as part of World Organ Day. The concert will include compositions by famous Notre Dame organists as… Show more well as compositions by American composers Shelton has premiered at the cathedral. “This will be an extraordinary day” notes Shelton, “as at any given moment an organist somewhere in the world will be performing music by Notre Dame composers.” The Cathedral has invited organists who have performed at Notre Dame to celebrate this historic anniversary with concerts of music highlighting compositions spanning nearly nine centuries.
