William Merritt Chase, John Singer Sargent and Mary Cassatt: Three American Artists of the Gilded Age
Professor Michael Farrell of the University of Windsor, discusses the varying degrees of influence that impressionism had on these three great American artists of the Gilded Age, and will show examples of their work to demonstrate their similarities and differences. This presentation is part of a series of programs, The Gilded Age to the Great War: America at the Turn of the Century, at the Lorenzo Cultural Center.
