From 1914 to 1918, the Shoreline Electric Railway provided a popular way for Chester residents to travel by west to Stony Creek or New Haven, or head east to New London, Mystic, Watch Hill or Norwich.Bruce Edgerton and Ted Mackenzie have been studying the Shoreline Electric Railway for years. At this free program by Chester Historical Society, they will share some stories and photographs from their forthcoming book on the building of the Old Saybrook to Chester segment of the electric railway.
