J. Baldwin's Restaurant and To-Go

Molly Abraham, Detroit News Restaurant Critic: Unlike the "Big Night" aura of his previous stints at upscale restaurants including the Whitney and Mac & Ray's, Jeffrey Baldwin decided to offer a down-to-earth experience at his restaurant, where the culinary ambitions are high, but the setting casually comfortable. In addition to thin-crusted gourmet pizzas, he offers cedar-planked salmon, sesame-seared tuna and herb-crusted chicken, with breads, salad dressings, and even ice cream all made in house. Everything is available to go, at a side-door counter. This is a winner, and it has the amenity of cocktails to go along with its other attributes.
