Join Horace Scruggs, PVCC's Instructor of Choral Music, for an informative look into the background of one of America's most uplifting art forms. The lecture will explore gospel music from its beginning as spirituals and work songs up to the gospel performances of today. Archival footage of the pioneers of gospel and a demonstration of how to create an authentic gospel performance will be included.
