Wing Haven

Wing Haven is actually two gardens:
Comprising nearly 3 acres enclosed by a high brick wall, Wing Haven Gardens and Bird Sanctuary is a mature southern garden of lovely vistas, brick paths and woodland areas that wind through camellias, boxwood, and many other plantings that attract numerous birds and other wildlife year-round. Plaques with inspiring and thoughtful quotations are placed in the paths throughout the garden.
The Elizabeth Lawrence House and Garden, just down the street, is the former home and garden laboratory of the renowned garden writer. Relatively small, this garden features a small central pool bordered by a brick patio and flanked by benches. Lawrence collected plants from correspondents throughout the southeast, and used this garden with its fine "bones" as the testing ground for her acquisitions.
