Eyewitness to World War II

Sunday, Nov 9 3:00p
Duke Mansion Charlotte, NC

Charlotte Observer reporter David Perlmutt is tracking down World War II veterans, most now in their 90s. He’ll bring some to share their stories, such as Henry Hirschmann, a Holocaust survivor who joined the U.S. Army "to get even" and fought through Europe; and Andy Andrews of Black Mountain, part of the third wave at Omaha Beach on D-Day. Free to attend, reservations required: kellis@tlwf.org or 704/714-4445. Part of the Explore History! series from Levine Museum and the Duke Mansion.
