Unheard Voices: Agness Caldwell
Agness Caldwell arrived at Rosedale Plantation in 1832 with her three children, bought by Dr. David Caldwell from neighbor James Todd. She served in the house as a domestic servant, had other children, and lived to see freedom come, although she remained a servant to a white family until she was too old to work. Meet Agness and hear her story as she drops by to see Baxter Caldwell, son of her former Master David Caldwell, in 1869.
