McDowell Nature Preserve

Bat Encounter!, an amazing multi-media presentation, features a variety of live bats including a gigantic flying fox, an endangered golden bat, a straw-colored fruit bat, and a U.S. micro bat. The audience will be shown a bat detector which will allow them to hear a live bat’s echolocation, a technique used for navigation, and to locate and identify insects and other objects.
