Busta Rhymes
The most idiosyncratic personality in rap and possessor of its most recognizable delivery, a halting, ragga-inspired style with incredible complexity, inventiveness, and humor, Busta Rhymes formed Leaders of the New School in 1990 and released two albums with the group before breaking...
Chris Cornell
Originally finding success as the singer/frontman of Seattle's Soundgarden, Chris Cornell also forged a successful solo career after the band's 1997 demise. Born in Seattle on July 20, 1964, Cornell's music career didn't take shape until he was a teenager, playing drums in bands...
Linkin Park
Old-school hip-hop, traditional classic rock, and spooling electronic vibes were the initial factors behind the building of the alternative metal quintet Linkin Park. The band's Southern Californian musical roots were also an underlying basis, for drummer Rob Bourdon, guitarist Brad...
Atreyu
Coming out of Southern California during the rap-metal explosion around the turn of the century, Atreyu crafted a sound much closer to Agnostic Front or Hatebreed. The metalcore quintet was formed by Brandon Saller (drums/vocals), Dan Jacobs (guitar), Chris Thomson (bass), Travis...
Armor for Sleep
New Jersey dream rock quartet Armor for Sleep's emotionally charged lyrics, energetic live shows, and D.I.Y. work ethic have won them a loyal fan base. Singer/songwriter/guitar player Ben Jorgensen began writing songs the summer before his freshman year at college, and recorded two...
Hawthorne Heights
The post-hardcore/emo-pop quintet Hawthorne Heights came to life in the summer of 2001. Originally called A Day in the Life, the Dayton, Ohio-based collective saw numerous lineup changes and shifting music styles before settling on a permanent formation.
The Bravery
The punchy modern rock outfit the Bravery feature Sam Endicott (vocals/guitar), John Conway (keyboards), Anthony Burulcich (drums), Michael Zakarin (guitar), and Mike H. (bass). The New York five-piece got its start in early 2003, a few years after Endicott (formerly of the Pasties...

Knoxville, TN's 10 Years formed in 2002 around vocalist Jesse Hasek, drummer Brian Vodinh, guitarists Matt Wantland and Tater, and bassist Lewis Cosby. The band released the Killing All That Holds You EP themselves a year later, and started to develop a local following for their...
Street Drum Corps
You can see them in the touristy areas of any large city like New York, Chicago, or Boston: young men performing for spare change by drumming on improvised instruments scrounged from dumpsters and building sites, like those five-gallon white plastic paint buckets.
Ashes Divide
A one-man band of sorts, Ashes Divide was the next step in the career of former lighting technician and guitar roadie Billy Howerdel. Howerdel, who was raised in New Jersey, first got his start in the music and touring world by working in lighting before moving into the role of guitar...

Songs from years ago such as "Breaking the habit","In the End","Numb".. All are good songs.. its like hyper rock.. Good rhythm to their songs.. makes you want to really get off your feet and start jumping crazily. I remember alot of people using their songs to make CS movies. =P
It used to be a unique sound anyways... This group really lost me when they released their 2nd album which was a complete rehash of their first. Up to that point, I had been a great supporter and loved their sound. It's still alright, but it lost alot of it's magic with me when it copped out and released remakes of songs they had just done. It's one thing for a long established band to do that with a compilation of songs across many albums and touching them up because they felt they could have done better, but it was just too early in their careers to pull such a move.
I love this new cd, Carry On! It gets better and better the more I listen to it and is on its way to being one of my favorites. It's different than anything he's done, which is refreshing. It's still Chris Cornell though...creative lyrics, great music, powerful voice! This album think it shows his maturity personally and as an artist. It offers something for everyone (rock, blues, funk, ballad). He is an amazing singer/songwriter who seems to get better with time. I would definitely recommend it, it is worth checking out! He is great live too! He is currently touring for this album, but is playing songs from his entire career (Soundgarden, Temple of the Dog, Audioslave, etc.).
