Shrimp City Slim, whose real name is Gary Erwin, was born in Chicago, IL, in 1953. He learned to play piano as a teenager, and soon found himself drawn to the blues. He played in several blues combos in the Chicago region before moving to Charleston, SC, in 1983, where he set up his own record label, Erwin Music....
