Shibori Indigo Workshop

Saturday, Mar 15 10:00a to 12:00p
Charleston Museum Charleston, SC

The Charleston Museum welcomes back fiber artist Kristy Bishop for another round of dyeing workshops. Shibori is the Japanese art of fold and bind resist dyeing that yields patterns ranging from stripes, chevrons, water-like striations and repeated geometric shapes to circles and ovals. The technique traditionally uses indigo, a natural dye with deep historical roots in Charleston. Students will learn how to create an assortment of patterns and will keep a journal of how they were able to create.
