Bruce Holsinger discusses his historical novel A Burnable Book
London, 1835: England just crowned a new king, Richard II, whose inexperience makes his position perilous. Among the book’s predictions is the assassination of the king. None other than Chaucer enlists his corrupt, connected friend John Gower to help find this book before its prophecies become a huge scandal. They discover that the book has fallen into the hands of prostitutes who will be drawn into a conspiracy that reaches as high as the king’s court.
