Tools of the Artist: Egg Tempera Demo and Lecture
Andrew Wyeth painted most of his significant paintings in egg tempera, a medium he described as having "no limitation." Univ. of DE painting conservators Brian Baade and Kristin deGhetaldi will discuss the use of egg tempera from the early Renaissance through the 20th century. They will explain the materials used for tempera painting and introduce the tools used for their identification. Demo will include creating organic pigments and painting with egg tempera.
