As a student at Warren Wilson College during the 1980s, Wilcox discovered and flourished in the scene built around Black Mountain, NC folk club, McDibbs. In a mere two years he went from releasing his debut album, The Nightshift Watchman, to signing with A&M and selling 100,000 copies of his second. After a quarter century on the road and 17 albums filled with songs more like memoirs than novels, he continues to find and deliver joy, inspiration, and invention to a loyal supporter base.
