Nonimmigrant visas are issued to foreign nationals seeking to enter the United States on a temporary basis for tourism, business, medical treatment and certain types of temporary work. This course will serve as an overview of the main categories of nonimmigrant visas available to businesses to bring temporary workers to the U.S., as well as to investors who open new businesses here. About the Speaker:
Ginger E. Jacobs received her J.D. degree with cum laude honors from Harvard Law School in 1998 and her Bachelor of Arts degree with magna cum laude honors from Duke University in 1995. A “big firm” alum, Ms. Jacobs started her own firm, Jacobs & Schlesinger LLP, in 2004 with the goal of providing the highest quality legal services to individuals, families and businesses. She is devoted to the principle that all people deserve competent legal counsel, regardless of resources, and is deeply involved with immigration-related non-profit organizations and grassroots advocacy efforts for immigration reform and immigration equality. Ms. Jacobs handles cases in all areas of immigration law, including removal defense, asylum, family-based immigration, employment-based immigration, and naturalization. She thrives on working with individuals from particularly vulnerable populations and specializes in immigration remedies for survivors of domestic violence and other violent crimes.
