11th annual Cabaret Dances: “Water Lilies/Nymphéas,” inspired by Monet’s Water Lilies
French Impressionist painter Claude Monet created some of his most famous works of art depicting his gardens of Giverney in the 1890s. Many artists have been inspired by the images and now choreographer Jean Isaacs among them. In creating work for the 11th annual Cabaret Dances, Isaacs is embracing the impressionist ethos that tries to capture an image that has only been “glimpsed” and is not detail oriented.
