Steve Wiegenstein, associate dean for academic affairs at Columbia College and a scholar of 19th century utopia, will talk about settlements designed to achieve an ideal social order. He will include Missouri’s religious and secular utopias, and anecdotes about some of the eccentric figures who founded them. Steve has roots in Madison County dating to the 1800s.
