Titanic 101: The History, Legacies, and Salvage of the World's Most Famous Shipwreck
On April 15, 1912, the British passenger liner RMS Titanic sank in the North Atlantic with the loss of more than fifteen hundred lives. Since that day, that ship has become a synonym of disaster. Eric Clements, professor of history at Southeast Missouri State University, will discuss the events of the disaster, public reaction to it then and since, and the ethical questions surrounding the deep ocean salvage of the ship following its discovery in 1985.
