The Public Library Board of Trustees consists of nine community members who are appointed by the Mayor for three year terms to monitor operations of the Cape Public Library. The Board of Trustees is a policy-making Board and is fiscally responsible for how the library's funds are spent. Membership is open to all persons over the age of eighteen years and who reside within the municipal library district of Cape Girardeau and who are interested in furtherance of the purposes of the Public Library.
