Les Bostonades Play Telemann & Bach: From the Sublime to the Ridiculous

Monday, Nov 3 7:30p
Christ Church Cambridge, MA

Telemann and Bach were friends and trod many of the same paths. Bach was destined for music from birth, but the genial Telemann overcame family objections, taught himself, and wrote more than 3,000 works (over fifty operas). This concert is a tasting menu of chamber music for strings by both friends, with two magnificent Bach trios, culminating in Telemann’s “burlesque” character suite on Don Quixotte. Les Bostonades, a sparkling period-ensemble, prompted a critic to write: "That was fun!"
