LearnLaunch Institute and YEP-Boston are excited to co-host an Edtech Pitch Night! Six early stage edtech startups will have the chance to pitch their products to a live audience. A panel of judges will offer the companies feedback and vote on the best pitch. The audience will also get to participate by voting for a crowd favorite. There will be plenty of time to mingle with the edtech community as well as the companies that are pitching.

Michael Milton: Social Studies Teacher, Burlington High School
In the classroom, Michael strives to make learning relevant and to further develop his students’ critical thinking skills. He serves on the Content Committee at the Edward M. Kennedy Institute and on Discovery Education's Social Studies Techbook Advisory Committee. Karen Richardson: English Language Learner Director, City on a Hill Charter Public Schools
Karen works for City on a Hill Charter Public Schools, a network of charter high schools in Massachusetts that seeks to graduate responsible, resourceful, and respectful democratic citizens prepared for college and to advance community, culture, and commerce, and to compete in the 21st century. She oversaw the overhaul and expansion of City on a Hill's ESL program, which has included a near five-fold increase of English Language Learners at City on a Hill over the past five years. Previously, Karen was a founding member of CoaH Corps (City on a Hill's year of service tutoring program) and a City Year Corps Member in Boston.
Laura Vago:
Laura received a BA in history from the University of Pennsylvania in 2004. After a year as an environmental educator with Nature's Classroom, she decided that science was pretty awesome and thought she'd like to teach it full time. She went on to get her Master's in education, focusing on classroom teaching, from Harvard University's Graduate School of Education. Since then, she has taught 8th grade science, 8th grade math, and 7th grade science in Malden. In addition to her full teaching load, she currently serves as the grades 6-8 Curriculum Support Leader for her school, and as a building representative for her local union. Additionally, she has served on the Massachusetts Teachers Association's New Member Committee for the past 3+ years, and is a newly elected member of the Board of Directors.
