The First Amendment in American History
For nearly 100 years, the First Amendment has guaranteed free speech, and a free press has been arguably one of the most important topics that the Supreme Court has consistently addressed. Interestingly, the court rarely addressed this matter between the passage of the Bill of Rights in 1791 and America's entry into World War I. We'll explore the historical and contemporary controversies surrounding these highly cherished rights.
