Back Bay Chorale

Sunday, Mar 17, 2013 3:00p

The BBC presents the Boston premiere of Anything Can Happen by the prolific young composer Mohammed Fairouz, dubbed a “post-millennial Schubert” by Gramophone. Co-commissioned by the Chorale, the music is an unlikely blending of Seamus Heaney’s poetry and apocalyptic passages from the Arabic Injeel (from the Arabic Christian Bible). On the same program is a masterwork of another young genius — Mozart’s Requiem, a work of somber and impressive beauty rising to great heights of power and grace.
