Walid Raad is an artist and associate professor of art at Cooper Union. His works include The Atlas Group, a fifteen-year project (1989-2004) about the contemporary history of Lebanon, and the ongoing projects Scratching on Things I Could Disavow: A History of Art in the Arab World, and Sweet Talk: Commissions (Beirut). Raad’s works have been shown at Whitechapel Art Gallery, Documenta 11, Venice Biennale, and Homeworks (Beirut, Lebanon). He is the recipient of a Guggenheim Fellowship.
