British Legends of Nicholas

Presented by Masterworks Chorale and Orchestra with Treble Chorus of New England.

Britten’s dramatic cantata from 1948 is full of wonder. As Nicholas is considered the patron saint of children, this performance is made more meaningful when the Treble Chorus of New England join the Chorale on stage. Also included are two shorter works by living British composers John Tavener and Ivan Moody, whose multi-layered, multi-lingual music receives its North American premiere on this program.
