Collage New Music presents an evening of "spectral" composition, music that developed in France from a detailed study of the acoustical life of sounds. On that same program, Peter Maxwell Davies' groundbreaking and terrifying "Eight Songs for a Mad King," a depiction of the madness of King George III that is at once humorous and profound, is featured. Brian Church, baritone. Julian Kuerti, guest conductor.
