25th Tables of Content Dinner - A Friends of the Brunswick-Glynn County Library Fundraiser

The Friends of the Library is thrilled to have award winning author Tony Horwitz as the speaker at its 25th Tables of Content Dinner, which will be held on Monday, April 30 at the Sea Palms Golf & Tennis Resort.
Tony worked many years as a reporter, first in Indiana, then in Australia, Europe, Africa, and the Middle East, mostly covering wars and conflicts as a foreign correspondent, for The Wall Street Journal . He won the Pulitzer Prize for national reporting and worked as a staff writer for The… Show more New Yorker before becoming a full-fledged book author.
Four of his books – A Voyage Long and Strange; Blue Latitudes; Baghdad Without a Map; and Confederates in the Attic – have been bestsellers on The New York Times bestseller list.
His newest book, Midnight Rising – John Brown and the Raid That Sparked the Civil War, released in November 2011, has received critical acclaim. Erik Larsen, author of The Devil in the White City, says about the book “With stunning, vivid detail, he has captured the sheer drama and tragedy of John Brown and that bloody raid at Harper’s Ferry that helped propel American into Civil War.”
