Overlooking the main promenade of The Orchard Town Center, Asti d’Italia offers an individual dining experience like no other in the area. Since Feb 21st, 2009 there has been one beacon of independently owned and operated business in a sea of ‘restaurant chain giants’. Owner/Operator/Sommelier, Charles Stanford has created a secluded, comfortable, casual-yet-sophisticated escape for a quick snack, a light meal, or a celebratory evening of dining. Asti d’Italia, like; Asti Spumante, Barbera d’Asti, Moscato d’Asti, and others has been named after a famous village in North-West Italy know for its continuous celebration of wine, food and the combination of both.
The menu, (prepared by talented local chef, Greg Keesy) has been reviewed to be… “while simple and straight forward, its more than adequate, providing something for everyone”. This would sum up our philosophy on food. “The best ingredients prepared simply to let the natural flavors excite the senses.” The simple and straight forward menu is complimented by an extensive selection of Northern Italian wines chosen carefully by Sommelier, Charles Stanford. The wine list represents the diversity of the area with bottles of wine beginning under $29, ranging up to single vineyard selections of classic years for specials occasions, and everywhere in between.
The ambiance, though quite adult and conservative in its design, has turned out to be very accepting to all. Children and parents alike are pleased to find a full and fun ‘Younger Diners’ menu complete with signature cocktails designed for a pre-21 palate. A semi-secluded room is available for parties of up to ten, (or families with small children) allowing for a little more intimacy or privacy while dining. A temperature controlled wine room greets the guests as they enter through the Tuscan arch and elegant front door. To the left, there are the 3 dining areas, each offering very different feels. To the right, the ‘copper-clad’ bar awaits with a slightly more nouveau motive.
