Science on Screen: King Kong

Monday, Jan 27 7:00p
Coolidge Corner Theatre Brookline, MA

In this 1933 classic, a film crew voyages to a remote island, where they discover Kong, a colossal gorilla who falls in love with the production's beautiful leading lady (Fay Wray). When the crew brings Kong back to New York in order to exploit him as "the eighth wonder of the world", he breaks loose and wreaks havoc. Before the film, veterinarian Chris Whittier discusses endangered gorilla populations and his experiences providing medical care to wild gorillas in Africa.
