This one-off workshop explores songwriting and will help you develop your craft and write to a professional standard . We will discuss how to be inventive with your sound and create individuality within your songwriting. This will help you develop as an artist as well as a songwriter .
This workshop will also cover the basics of music business, including how to work as an independent artist, build up a fan base and attract a record label in the long run.

This workshop was designed with intermediate songwriters in mind. However, if you’re a beginner or experienced songwriter and feel this workshop will benefit you, you are welcome to attend. You do not need to read music in order to attend this workshop.
You do not need to bring instruments to this workshop but, if you would like bring an instrument or a backing track, there will be a chance to play to the group at the end of the session. This will be a great opportunity to get feedback from other songwriters. (This is optional – you don’t have to perform if you don’t want to.)

Who is the workshop taught by?
This workshop is taught by lyricist and songwriter, Justine Perry BA (Hons.) For more information about Justine, please see the organiser description on this page (up and on the right.)
Are there ID requirements or an age limit to enter the event?
There are no ID requirements. This workshop is designed for ages 15 and over. There is no upper age restriction. This course is appropriate for beginners and experienced songwriters alike.
What are my transport/parking options getting to the event?
On street parking is available on Portland Road and costs £1 per hour. If you will be travelling by bus the 49, 46 and 2 drop very close by and take approximately ten minutes from central Brighton. Do I have to bring my printed ticket to the event?
Yes, please bring your ticket to the event.
What is the refund policy?
Tickets are non-refundable, except in the unlikely event the workshop had to be cancelled.
The name on the registration/ticket doesn't match the attendee. Is that okay?
If for whatever reason the name on the registration does not match the attendee, please email justine@jpmusicandlyrics.com in advance, giving the name on the registration and the name of the attendee.
