Immediately attracting a range of major international artistes and large Conferences, Bournemouth Borough Council recognised the urgent need to expand the facilities and added the circular Purbeck Hall in 1990 at a further investment of over £6million. By now establishing itself as one of the most popular venues of its type, additional funding was made available to add smaller meeting and breakout rooms, until 2004 when a massive £22million expansion and redevelopment programme was commenced, providing a 4th auditoria, the Solent Hall (at the expense of the under-used leisure facilities) and an increased capacity Windsor Hall, making the BIC the largest venue on the South Coast.
The PAVILION THEATRE and BALLROOM is Bournemouth's traditional venue for year round entertainment . Built in the 1920s, it retains its splendour and elegant styling and is Bournemouth's regular home for West End stage shows, Opera, Ballet, Pantomime and Comedy as well as for corporate presentations and dinner dances, product launches and small conferences.
In particular the Ballroom enables you to hold gala dinners, fashion shows or other activities to complement a conference or exhibition in the BIC.
Refurbished in 2007,the Pavilion Theatre holds a seated audience of 1012 in fixed seats on a raked floor, with a further 446 in the circle. The Ballroom provides an exquisite backdrop for banquets, receptions, social functions and even small fayres and exhibitions.

As the lead guitarist, main songwriter, and occasional vocalist for Oasis, Noel Gallagher played a tremendous role in shaping British rock music during the 1990s and beyond. At the beginning of their career, Level 42 was squarely a jazz-funk fusion band, contemporaries of fellow Brit funk groups like Atmosfear, Light of the World, Incognito, and Beggar & Co. By the end of the '80s, however, the band -- whose music was instantly recognizable from Mark King's thumb-slap bass technique and associate member Wally Badarou's synthesizer flourishes -- had crossed over to the point where they were often classified as sophisti-pop and dance-rock, equally likely to be placed in the context of Sade and the Style Council as any group that made polished, upbeat, danceable pop/rock....

As a recognised face on every episode of BBC2’s Mock the Week, in addition to his appearances on 8 out of 10 Cats, They Think It’s All Over, Law of the Playground and FAQ U, Frankie Boyle is an established name in the world of comedy....
In 1992 and 1993 Peter Andre defied the odds by becoming a pop star in Australia when the last thing the country was looking for was a singing dancing muscle flexing r&b pop hero. In 1995 he achieved the near-impossible again by repeating the same feat across Europe....
