Archaeology at Blackfoot Cave

Thursday, May 9, 2013 7:00p

Taking advantage of the perennial spring and nearby creek, people have utilized the Blackfoot Cave Site for at least 7000 years. Less than half a mile away, the Front Range site was a stopping place for travelers on the Cherokee Trail which connected Bent’s Fort and the Santa Fe Trail with Fort Bridger and the Oregon Trail. Excavations over the past six years have uncovered thousands of artifacts of all types. This talk will present what we have found and what we have learned.
