CAFÉ SCIENTIFIQUE - Steven Nerem,Prof., CU Boulder; "What's Happening in the Bathtub?: The Science of Sea Level Change"

Tuesday, Mar 12 5:30p to 7:00p

Sea level is an excellent indicator of how the Earth is responding to climate change because it rises both due to increasing heat storage in the oceans as well as from the melting of ice on land. Satellite measurements over the last few decades have given us an unprecedented ability to measure these changes and allow us to determine the factors driving the change. The new science allowed by these measurements will be reviewed and implications for the future of the coastal regions discussed.
