This show is a breathtaking, life-changing, incredibly empowering experience to witness, and a major proponent of ending violence against women. "V-Day is a global activist movement to end violence against women and girls. V-Day is a catalyst that promotes creative events to increase awareness, raise money, and revitalize the spirit of existing anti-violence organizations. V-Day generates broader attention for the fight to stop violence against women and girls, including rape, battery, incest, female genital mutilation (FGM), and sex slavery."
About CAVP:
"We are a youth-led project working to build community power to break cycles of violence affecting LGBTQ young people. Using strategies of community organizing, arts & media, action research and direct action we spark dialogue, educate and empower youth to take action. We continue to build a base of youth leaders locally and nationally who are committed to fighting for safety and justice in our lives, families and communities ... The most common types of violence we work with are hate violence and intimate partner violence; we also receive reports of sexual assault, police misconduct, homelessness, HIV-motivated violence and acts of random violence."
