Live Alpacas at the UMC Fountain!
Friday, Apr 26 2:00p
to
5:00p
Meet, greet, and learn about the huacaya alpaca. Audiences will learn about the transformation of natural fibers growing on the alpaca to a finished, warm, luxurious scarf or shawl! Their luxurous fleece is often compared to cashmere.
Alpacas are smaller cousins of camels and llamas. Native to South America, alpacas are well suited to Colorado. They are ecologically sound and easy to maintain and are gentle, inquisitive, and intelligent.
You will meet two alpacas from southwest Weld County!
