to

Canyon Theater - Boulder Public Library
Boulder,
CO
In 1885, the "Berlin Conference on Africa" came to a conclusion, and a large part of Africa's subsequent fate had been set in motion. The purpose of the Conference was for the Great Powers to establish rules amongst themselves for the colonization of Africa. Using actual transcripts, the film combines reenactments of the Conference, with the insights of scholars, to discuss the politics, and legacy of the first international conference about Africa.
