Boulder’s Arabic Literature Discussion Group will discuss LEBANESE BLONDE by Joseph Geha. The story takes place in 1975-76 at the beginning of Lebanon’s civil war. Set primarily in the Toledo, Ohio, “Little Syria” community, two cousins concoct a scheme to import Lebanese Blonde, a potent strain of hashish, into the USA. A suspense-filled drama as much as a character study, it has some beautiful, philosophical prose and observations that make you want to highlight and share quotes.
