Environmental Science Series: Climate Change
Tuesday, Jan 22 7:00p
Chautauqua Community House
Boulder,
CO
Why is the Earth warming and the ice sheet of Greenland melting at a historic rate? The most straightforward explanation for a warming Earth are the greenhouse gases emitted when fossil fuels are burned. CO2 concentration in the atmosphere is now at its highest point in more than 600,000 years.
In this evening’s talk, scientists from NOAA & NCAR will discuss these changes in climate and the measurements taken by showing where rainfall and snowfall patterns might shift.
