Irish born Augusts Saint-Gaudens (1848-1907) became one of the greatest sculptors of America's gilded age with his public monuments, private memorials, and one of the most beautiful gold coin in the history of the U.S. Treasury. Dr. Tolles, Vilcek Curator of American Paintings and Sculpture at New York's Metropolitan Museum, explores the mysterious allegorical female figure that populate his work. Free and open to the public; reservations required.
