Past And Present At The MFA: False Doors From Ancient Egypt To Rachel Whiteread
Why make a door if you can't walk through it? What's a door without a wall? Join Lawrence Berman, Norma Jean Calderwood Senior Curator of Ancient Egyptian, Nubian and Near Eastern Art, and Barbara Martin, Alfond Curator of Education, to consider the meanings of doors, as they are given form in ancient Egyptian tombs, turned inside out by contemporary artist Rachel Whiteread, and put on view at the MFA.
