Amy Lowell (1874-1925) was a cigar-smoking, Pulitzer Prize-winning poet, a founder of the influential "Imagist" movement which included novelist D.H. Lawrence, sister of the president of Harvard University, and a devoted member of the Boston Athenaeum. Since the 1970s, her reputation as a leading American literary figure of the early 20th century has gradually revived. In this event, her latest biographer, Carl Rollyson, discusses this most colorful of American women poets.
