Communal Reading of Frederick Douglass' 4th of July Speech

Tuesday, Jul 2, 2013 12:00p
Boston Common Boston, MA

Come participate in this 5th annual public communal reading of Frederick Douglass' remarkable speech given in Rochester, NY on July 5, 1852.
Anyone is welcome to come and read a section of the speech or listen as members of the community come together to read this important document.
This year marks the 150th anniversary of the emancipation proclamation. What better way of reflecting on the history of this country then getting together as a community to read Douglass' speech.
